Arts Impact

Arts Impact provides comprehensive professional development in the arts to elementary and middle school classroom teachers in Pierce and King Counties. It is a two-year program that trains classroom teachers to independently teach visual and performing arts and integrate the arts into the core curriculum. The program began in Pierce County in 1999. It has now trained and mentored more than 470 teachers reaching over 47,000 students during that time. As a partner with Arts Impact, Pacific Northwest Ballet offers opportunities for teachers to create dance-infused lesson plans, and to attend ballet performances and fieldtrips with their classrooms.
