Supporting Teachers and Students in Schools

PNB's In-School programs, "Dance to Learn" support up to 600 students and 15 Schools annually in public schools with our award winning curriculums and integrated programs.

PNB Teaching Artists have a wide variety of specialization in various fields, including literacy, Early Childhood Development, teaching choreography, and teaching to populations with disabilities. All PNB Outreach activities are aligned with local, state and national standards for the arts.

Just Dance Workshop for Grades K-12

Students get up and move as they experience dance as an art form. Workshops include live musical accompaniment and may be scheduled to include 1–4 visits. Contact Kayti Bouljon 206.441.2432 or kayti@pnb.org

Project-Based Residencies for Grades K-12

Project Based Residencies use curriculum topics as inspiration for movement. Students create choreography based on classroom themes or subjects! Residencies can last one day, one month, or whatever works for your classroom. Longer residencies may culminate in a public performance. Contact Kayti Bouljon 206.441.2432 or kayti@pnb.org

PNB Fieldtrips for Grades PK-12

Students come inside the PNB home and discover dance in a professional setting. Students participate in a fun and challenging ballet class taught in our state-of-the-art studios. They also observe the dancers at work in class or rehearsal for upcoming performances, and have the opportunity to view brilliant costumes up close. $100 coordination fee per fieldtrip. Discover Dance

DISCOVER DANCE Performance Partnership is a consortium of schools who have been long-time participants in PNB's outreach and education program. Partner schools participate in three to five month in-school residencies that culminate in the Discover Dance Community Performance at McCaw Hall.
