Discover Dance Performance

Arbor Heights, Broadview Thomson, Highland Park and Leschi Families:
Your school’s DISCOVER DANCE Community Performance is Saturday, November 15th from 2:00-3:30pm.

Please read the following information carefully. Questions can be directed to education@pnb.org or 206.441.2415.

General Information

  • All students need to arrive at McCaw Hall on Saturday, November 15th at 1:15pm.
  • Families can drive and drop students off OR take the school bus from school. 
  • The performance will last approximately 90 minutes. There will not be an intermission.
  • Students will not be released until the end of the performance- no exceptions.
  • Photography and videography are strictly prohibited at DISCOVER DANCE performances. In addition to respecting music and choreography copyright law, Pacific Northwest Ballet is fully compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Many students do not have family/guardian permission for photos. Audience members violating FERPA will be asked to leave.
  • In-school performances will be offered at all schools; parents are welcome to attend these events.

Tickets

  • Tickets are available for $12 each, or $10 each for groups of 10 or more.
  • Your child’s teacher will be placing a group order for $10 tickets. Please return the ticket order form no later than October 23 in order to take advantage of this offer.
  • Student performers do not need a ticket, however all other family and friends will need a ticket for admission. This includes infants and toddlers on laps. This is a city mandate based on fire code restrictions.
  • Scholarship (free) tickets are available to families that are unable to purchase tickets. All free ticket requests must be made by October 23rd.

Transportation

  • Yellow school buses will be available for students and families on performance day. Please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible if you plan to take the bus.
  • Departure times vary by school. Please contact your child’s teacher for details.

Attire

  • Performing students must wear black pants (jeans, slacks, baseball pants, sweatpants, etc.) and a light tank or t-shirt.
  • PNB will provide a t-shirt for every student performer, which they will receive on performance day (and get to keep!)
  • There are no private changing areas.  Please send your student ready to dance.
  • Please let your classroom teacher know if your student will need to borrow a pair of black pants.
  • Long hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail, braid or bun.
  • There is no dress code for McCaw Hall or PNB performances.  Audience members should come dressed as you are. DISCOVER DANCE is a casual and fun environment!

Daniel Bagley, Eastgate, Graham Hill and Licton Springs Families:
Your school’s Pacific Northwest Ballet DISCOVER DANCE Community Performance is Saturday, March 21 from 11:30am-1:00pm

Your school’s Pacific Northwest Ballet DISCOVER DANCE Family Day is Saturday, May 9, from 2:00-3:30 (Phantom Lake) and 4:00-5:30 (South Shore).

  • Your student will be performing at PNB’s Phelps Center on Saturday, May 9.
  • All students need to arrive at PNB 30 minutes before the start time (1:30 for Phantom Lake, 3:30 for South Shore).
  • Families can drive and drop students off OR take the school bus from school. 
  • The event will last approximately 90 minutes.
  • Students will not be released until the end of the performance- no exceptions.
  • Photography and videography are strictly prohibited at DISCOVER DANCE performances. In addition to respecting music and choreography copyright law, Pacific Northwest Ballet is fully compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).   • Activities for attendees will be included in the day’s itinerary. This includes a dancing obstacle course, a partnering activity, and a chance to see costumes and shoes up close.
