Soloists

Lucien Postlewaite is from Santa Cruz, California. He trained on scholarship at the School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. While a Professional Division student at PNBS, he received a Level II Award for ballet in the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts' 2003 Arts Recognition and Talent Search. Mr. Postlewaite joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2003. He was promoted to corps de ballet in 2004, and made a soloist in 2007.

Mr. Postlewaite has performed leading roles in George Balanchine's Agon, Emeralds, The Four Temperaments, La Sonnambula, La Valse, Prodigal Son, Rubies, Square Dance, Symphony in Three Movements, and Theme and Variations; Val Caniparoli's The Bridge and Torque; Ulysses Dove's Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven and Red Angels; William Forsythe's In the middle, somewhat elevated; Ronald Hynd's The Merry Widow (Camille) and The Sleeping Beauty (Gold and Silver pas de trois); Mark Morris's Pacific; Jerome Robbins' In the Night; Kent Stowell's Nutcracker (Prince), Swan Lake (Prince Siegfried), and The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet; Richard Tanner's Ancient Airs and Dances; Glen Tetley's The Rite of Spring; Twyla Tharp's In the Upper Room, Waterbaby Bagatelles; and Christopher Wheeldon's Polyphonia. He originated leading roles in Paul Gibson's The Piano Dance and Victor Quijada's Suspension of Disbelief, and for Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2005 Choreographers' Showcase, Olivier Wevers' One Symphony. He also originated a featured role in Paul Gibson's Sense of Doubt. He has been featured in Balanchine's Ballet Imperial, Symphony in C and Symphony in Three Movements, Val Caniparoli's Torque, Nicolo Fonte's Within/Without, Christopher Stowell's Quick Time, Kent Stowell's Carmina Burana, and Paul Taylor's Roses.

Mr. Postlewaite has performed as a guest artist in China with Utah Regional Ballet. He has also performed Petipa's Paquita and Wevers' A Midsummer Night's Dream with Reiko Yamamoto Ballet Company in Japan, and Balanchine's Tarantella with Los Angeles Ballet.
