Soloists

Jodie Thomas is from St. Maries, Idaho. She trained under Lynne Williams-Mullin and on scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 1995, was promoted to corps de ballet in 1996, and made a Soloist in 2000.

Ms. Thomas has danced leading roles in George Balanchine's Apollo, Ballet Imperial, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Concerto Barocco, Divertimento No. 15, Emeralds, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Butterfly, Helena, Divertissement pas de deux), Rubies, Stars and Stripes, Symphony in C, Symphony in Three Movements, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, and Western Symphony; Val Caniparoli's The Bridge and Torque; Nacho Duato's Rassemblement; Nicolo Fonte's Almost Tango; Paul Gibson's The Piano Dance and Rush; Ronald Hynd's The Merry Widow (Valencienne) and The Sleeping Beauty (Bluebird pas de deux); José Limón's The Moor's Pavane; Marius Petipa's Paquita; Kent Stowell's Delicate Balance, Dual Lish, Duo Fantasy, Hail to the Conquering Hero, Nutcracker (Clara), Poème St. Saëns, and Silver Lining; Lynne Taylor-Corbett's Mercury and The Quilt; Twyla Tharp's In the Upper Room, Nine Sinatra Songs and Waterbaby Bagatelles; and Christopher Wheeldon's Polyphonia. She originated a leading role in Kevin O'Day's [soundaroun(d)ance] and featured roles in Paul Gibson's Sense of Doubt and Stowell's Carmen. She has also been featured in Balanchine's Chaconne, La Sonnambula, La Valse, and Who Cares?; Petipa's Don Quixote; Stowell's Carmina Burana and The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet; Paul Taylor's Roses; and Glen Tetley's The Rite of Spring.

Ms. Thomas danced in the BBC's 1999 film version of PNB's production of Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream, filmed at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London. She has performed as a guest artist with the Royal Danish Ballet.
