What materials are used to make costumes?

The Costume Shop uses a variety of materials to make PNB's costumes. The list is endless, but the standards are nylon/lycra for stretch, silk chiffon and crepe de chine, rayon jersey and nylon tulle, polyester, wool and rayon gabardine, silk knits, novelty silks, laces, glitter fabrics, and notions consisting of special hooks and bars, snaps, grosgrain waist-banding, cotton herringbone flat linings, and elastic for straps. To acquire the perfect material for a costume, the Costume Shop has been known to purchase fabric and notions from as far away as Europe.
