Pacific Northwest Ballet
PNB Volunteers of the Year
2006-2007 Season

Pacific Northwest Ballet's family includes our priceless volunteer organizations. This community of dedicated and enthusiastic patrons has become personally involved to ensure and promote the success of PNB. We gratefully acknowledge each of this year's outstanding PNB Volunteers of the Year who have generously contributed their time, energy and tireless effort to further our goals.

Martha Alder, Backstage Pass

Martha Alder has played a key role in the success of Backstage Pass since her involvement in 2005. During the 2005–2006 season she spearheaded the creation of an outreach program that provided Backstage Pass members the opportunity to volunteer for PNB's various fundraising efforts, and she was an integral member of the planning committee for the first annual Backstage Bash. As Education Committee Chair for the 2006–2007 season, Martha implemented an interview program with the Company's corps de ballet dancers for the Backstage Pass newsletter and created a member's social before each Conversations with PNB. Martha passed away on February 24, 2007. Her contributions to Pacific Northwest Ballet will always be remembered and her lively presence at Backstage Pass activities will be deeply missed.

Caroline Goedhart, STARS

Caroline Goedhart, PNB STARS' Membership Chair, has provided exemplary leadership in the STARS' organization. Her cheerful willingness to take on any task and bring it to a new and improved level has made her an essential and highly valued STAR. Congratulations, Caroline, for being STARS' Volunteer of the Year!

Peg Hawkes, PNB League

Peg has been a faithful and hardworking volunteer and supporter of the League for many years. She served as Secretary of the League in 2000–2002, and PNB League President from 2002–2006. She has also chaired the annual PNB League Nutcracker Brunch from 2005–2006. Peg has been an officer on the Board of Governors (2002–2006) and an enthusiastic member of the Advisory Board for 2006. Her League affiliation is with the Mercer Island/Eastside support group whose pointe Shoe "work parties" provide dancer-signed Company shoes for sale at Amusements.

Volunteer Corps
Cheryl and Art Boll, Amusements & Special Events

Cheryl and Art Boll have been volunteering for PNB since the old Opera House days. They have willingly offered their help in all areas of sales, cashiering, host and hostess positions in McCaw Hall's Amusements gift shop. The Boll's have also become mainstays at Members of the Barre Studio Rehearsal receptions where they graciously greet guests with a warm smile and a glass of wine. PNB is lucky to have such a versatile and capable team in the wings.

Allison Kerr, DanceChance

Allison began volunteering for DanceChance in the Fall of 2006 and quickly demonstrated her outstanding commitment and passion for the program. Her dedication, energy, and enthusiasm inspire our DanceChance students on a daily basis to reach their full potential in life. Allison is especially happy to share her love of dance with young students who may be having their first dance experience. Currently a sophomore at Seattle Pacific University, Allison is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Sociology.
