PNB's Stowell/Sendak NUTCRACKER:
November 28–December 30, 2008

PNB’s cherished Stowell/Sendak Nutcracker celebrates its 25th Anniversary with showers of silver and snow. Special guests, surprise appearances, and McCaw Hall shimmering with light and merriment promise this year's Nutcracker will be the most festive event of the season. PNB devotes nearly 50% of its annual advertising and promotional budget toward Nutcracker each year ensuring that Nutcracker receives high visibility in radio and print advertising as well as cross-promotional outlets throughout the holiday season.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Ranging from intimate receptions to grand galas, PNB is famous for throwing the most spectacular affairs in town! The ultimate in employee entertainment, sponsors receive prominent recognition on-site and during promotions that reach our most affluent supporters.
  • Backstage Bash: Spring 2009
    When the curtain comes down, the party starts! A one-time only special performance during the Spring Dance Festival, followed by a rockin' backstage party hosted by Backstage Pass, PNB's social and educational group for patrons in their 20s and 30s.
  • Winter Wonderland Ball: January 2009
    For a special afternoon, the Francia Russell Center is transformed into a winter paradise for family entertainment. This is THE premier gala of the year for kids; dance lessons, live music, plus appearances by favorite PNB dancers.

NEW WORKS INITIATIVE
PNB has launched a New Works funding initiative to build the PNB repertory, creating a signature body of work that will position PNB at the forefront of ballet and offer our audiences exhilarating programs. New ballets represent an essential expression of PNB's commitment to the vitality and innovative nature of the Pacific Northwest region by providing a wide range of choreography that stimulates our audience members and community.


EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS

National Pacific Northwest Ballet School Audition Tour & Summer Course
In January, nationally-renowned Pacific Northwest Ballet School hosts an annual audition tour for its prestigious five-week Summer Course held in July and August. This highly anticipated tour covers 21 cities across the country in an effort to audition an estimated 1600 classical ballet students. Sponsors will be recognized in local and national advertising including The Seattle Times, Dance Magazine and Pointe Magazine and featured on all related promotional materials sent to 1200 dance schools across the nation.

Annual School Performance—June 13, 2009
This annual extravaganza celebrates the accomplishments of the School's participating students in Levels I–VII, Professional Division, and DanceChance. Sponsors are recognized in all school performance media and marketing materials and receive invitations to related events.

DanceChance
DanceChance is designed to increase access to ballet training for children whose families are unable to meet actual training costs but who have the talent and dedication to succeed by providing free ballet training to students from low-income and diverse backgrounds in the Puget Sound region.

Discover Dance
PNB's youth outreach and educational program DISCOVER DANCE supports meaningful experiences in dance across broad and diverse communities. DISCOVER DANCE's principal goal is to deepen young people's understanding of ballet and to foster a more comprehensive learning experience through the incorporation of dance.

BACKSTAGE PASS
Backstage Pass is Pacific Northwest Ballet's social and educational group for ballet patrons in their 20s and 30s. Sponsors receive special recognition at BSP events and on the BSP website (www.backstagepasspnb.org) as well as recognition on the designated Backstage Pass webpage on PNB's website and in Encore program.
