Luther DeMyer is from Indianapolis, Indiana. He studied at the Indianapolis School of Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, and Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and he attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Mr. DeMyer joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2018 and was promoted corps de ballet later that year.
While a student, Mr. DeMyer performed corps de ballet roles with Pacific Northwest Ballet in George Balanchine’s Diamonds and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Cendrillon, Crystal Pite’s Emergence, Jerome Robbins’ Opus 19/The Dreamer and West Side Story Suite, Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake, and Ezra Thomson’s The Perpetual State. He also performed leading roles in PNB School productions of Bruce Wells’ Hansel & Gretel and Robbins’ Fanfare, and he originated roles in works by Guillaume Basso, Christopher D’Ariano, Steven Loch, Miles Pertl, Jerome Tisserand, and Dylan Wald for PNB’s NEXT STEP and PNB School’s Annual School Performance.
Mr. DeMyer also performed Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments and Valse-Fantaisie with the Indianapolis School of Ballet.
