Music: Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky / Choreography: Kent Stowell / Sets & Costumes: Maurice Sendak
Praised by The New York Times as “original and exciting,” this marvelously imagined production, created by PNB Founding Artistic Director Kent Stowell and author/illustrator Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are), features over 200 dancers, gigantic moving sets, a snowfall every performance, and—the magical sound of the season—Tchaikovsky’s beloved score performed by the PNB Orchestra.
Music: Oskar Nedbal / Choreography: Bruce Wells
PNB School faculty member Bruce Wells, who staged a delightful Snow White for young audiences in 2012, is back with his version of the adventures of young Hansel and Gretel, which was a huge hit for family audiences when PNB last presented it in the spring of 2010. The ballet will feature students from PNB School.
Experience the arrival of the next generation of dance artists.
A vehicle for emerging talent, NEXT STEP is where Company dancers rise as choreographers and PNB School’s Professional Division students take center stage in an all-premiere lineup of works created just for them. Be in the audience as these young artists take over the mainstage. Featuring Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras.
A greatest hits reprise of highlights of the 40th Anniversary Season!
This ONE TIME ONLY celebration pays tribute to another outstanding season of brilliant dancing, world-class choreography, and superb live orchestra.
