At PNB School, we believe dance encourages students of all ages to express themselves, have fun, and build community – all while getting a great workout! Our Adult Program offers classes for all skills and fitness levels. Each one is taught by PNB School’s renowned faculty in our airy facilities.

Drop-In Classes
PNB School’s Drop-In Classes work for you and your schedule! All classes are taught by PNB School faculty, held in our spacious studios in Seattle and Bellevue, and feature live accompaniment. Single classes are $20, or save with our variety of multi-class pack options!
Fundamentals Classes
At the very beginning your dance journey? PNB’s Fundamental Classes are for you! Develop your dancing skills during weekly, an hour and a half long sessions in a welcoming and supportive environment. Choose between eight-week and nine-week sessions.
PNBConditioning (Pilates at PNB)
PNBConditioning’s Pilates sessions develop core strength and stability, increase flexibility, and work for any fitness level. We offer Mat, Reformer, and both Private and Semi-Private reformer classes!
Teachers’ Seminar
Teachers’ Seminar brings together dance educators from across the country for a four-day total immersion experience into the dance training, philosophies, syllabus, and dancer wellness program that makes PNB School one of the nation’s finest professional ballet training institutions.

Class Descriptions
Open Program classes are offered on a drop-in basis to the general public ages 13 and older. Classes run from September-August and follow the PNB School calendar. Each class is 1.5 hours.
BEGINNER: This class is perfect for people who have taken at least one year of ballet, danced in their youth, or have completed the PNB Fundamentals program. PNB Beginner classes are a great way to rekindle your love of dance or continue building your ballet foundation and overall strength.
INTERMEDIATE: This class is perfect for people who have taken at least one year of ballet, danced in their youth, or have completed the PNB Fundamentals program. PNB Beginner classes are a great way to rekindle your love of dance or continue building your ballet foundation and overall strength.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: This is our most challenging class, featuring complex combinations with a strong focus on technique, musicality, and artistry. We recommend 4 or more years of classical ballet training to participate. Challenge your quick-thinking ballet skills and experience the rigor of this advanced level.

Fundamentals Classes Details
Class Descriptions
In addition to our drop-in classes, the Fundamentals courses are offered as 8-week or 9-week series and are designed to be taken as a progressive course. Please note that classes are non-transferable, and there are no refund or make-up classes if you are unable to attend. Exceptions will be made in the case of an injury and corresponding doctor’s note.
FUNDAMENTALS OF BALLET I: Have you always wanted to try ballet but felt too intimidated? This is the class for you! Fundamentals I is designed for absolute beginners. Over the course of the session, you will learn correct ballet posture, basic ballet positions of the legs, feet, and arms, build up to executing basic barre work, and experience the beginnings of center work. The classroom environment is relaxed and lighthearted, allowing you to share an evening with fellow ballet enthusiasts, all while building your ballet foundation and getting an amazing full-body workout.
FUNDAMENTALS OF BALLET II: Following completion of the Fundamentals I course (ideally 1-2 times), Fundamentals II focuses on increasing your ballet vocabulary while building your foundation for a smooth transition into beginner ballet.

Class Descriptions
Pilates Mat
Pilates on the mat is a dynamic mix of exercises that focus on toning, strengthening, and flexibility. Students learn proper body alignment with an emphasis on engaging the core and can expect to use a variety of props while building endurance and balancing muscle groups. With a holistic approach and a variety of modifications available, Pilates is open to all abilities and is accessible to everyone.
Pilates Reformer
The reformer uses springs, pulleys, straps, and a foot bar to encourage concentric and eccentric muscle engagement while stabilizing the spine. Students will tone and stretch during this full body workout which will incorporate small props in addition to the reformer machine.

Extensions of class packs are ONLY available in the case of prolonged illness or injury with a doctor's note, and requests must be made within 1 month of the original expiration date. Extensions will be not be granted for any other reason. You can request an extension by emailing pnbschool@PNB.org.

Yes, we require all students to check in at the front desk when they arrive. Please tell the staff that you are here for Open class. They will check you in and let you know which studio class is in. You will also need an access badge in order to enter the building. This will be sent in a confirmation email from Mindbody prior to the class.

Yes! Our Fundamentals series classes have the option to take the class over Zoom.

When you select a class, you will be able to see which studio location the class is being held at (Seattle or Bellevue). Please make sure you check carefully before booking. If you accidentally register for the wrong location, you have the option to cancel your reservation yourself via MindBody, or you are welcome to email us at PNBSchool@PNB.org and we will cancel your reservation on your behalf; we are happy to help change your reservation.

To register for class, you will need to create an account with Mindbody. After creating an account, find a PNB School Open Class through our embedded calendar of classes (above, on this page) or by searching for us by typing PNBConditioning in the Mindbody app.

When classes are cancelled, PNB School will send an email announcement to the email address connected to your Mindbody account.

We highly recommend registering through Mindbody for the classes you’d like to attend. Registration closes one hour prior to the start of class. If there is space in class, we allow students to drop-in. If you miss the registration deadline, call the PNB School location where your class is being held ahead of time to check on class capacity.

All students are required to wear ballet appropriate clothing that allows for fluid movement during class. Jewelry and other accessories should be minimal: small earrings and watches at the teachers’ discretion. All students are expected to follow proper hygienic care. Ballet technique shoes are required. Pointe shoes are permitted as desired by the student. PNB does not offer Open Program classes specific to pointe work.

If you have never taken a dance class before, we recommend starting with one of our eight- or nine-week fundamentals series, Fundamentals of Ballet I. Any other level of experience, visit the Class Descriptions section of this page to determine where to begin.

PNB requires a 12-hour notice of cancellation. You have the option to cancel your reservation yourself via MindBody or you are welcome to email us at PNBSchool@PNB.org and we will cancel your reservation on your behalf. If you do not cancel your reservation within 12 hours prior to the start of class, you will lose your class credit.
