Field Trips to PNB

Bring your group to PNB studios at the Phelps Center for an active and engaging behind the scenes experience in the professional world of ballet. PNB welcomes groups of all ages to visit us and learn about the artistry, magic, and energy of our internationally renowned ballet company.

What do students do on a field trip to PNB?

  • Take a creative movement dance class in a professional studio- includes live musical accompaniment
  • Go behind the scenes with a peek into PNB’s Costume Shop
  • See and touch examples of costumes and shoes

How much does a field trip cost?

$160 per classroom; maximum 30 participants in each class.

PNB can accommodate up to 2 classrooms visiting at one time (must be from the same school).

How do I schedule a field trip?

Fieldtrips are typically scheduled for select Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, and up to two classrooms can be accommodated at a time. Fieldtrips last approximately 1.5 hours.

Where are PNB’s studios?

Fieldtrips take place at PNB’s Seattle Center location, the Phelps Center, located at 301 Mercer Street, Seattle, WA 98109. This is on the north side of the Seattle Center campus, next door to McCaw Hall.

  • Maximum class size is 30 students; up to 2 classes (60 people) may attend at the same time
  • Schools must provide own transportation
  • Drop-off/pick-up load zone is available in front of the Phelps Center, along Mercer Street, for school buses
  • Parking information for cars
  • We are unable to accommodate fieldtrip groups eating lunch on site. If your fieldtrip plans include lunchtime, there are several areas around PNB that can accommodate school groups. The Seattle Center Fountain is just out the back door and the Seattle Center Armory has a large area of indoor seating.
