Seattle composer William Bolcom originally composed his suite, The Garden of Eden, for piano solo, later arranging it for two pianos for a performance by Richard and John Contigulia. It was this arrangement that intrigued Kent Stowell. From the suite, he chose a rag fantasy called Serpent’s Kiss for a sprightly pas de deux, created to capture the talents of Pacific Northwest Ballet soloists Noelani Pantastico and Jonathan Porretta.
