Malena Ani is from Los Angeles California. She studied with Olga Tozyiakova, Natalia Sinitsyna, and Zippora Karz, and at Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She attended summer courses at the Chautauqua Institution, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Ms. Ani joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2020.
While a student at Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Ms. Ani performed in Company productions of George Balanchine’s George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ronald Hynd’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Kent Stowell’s Carmina Burana and Cinderella. She performed a leading role in PNB School performances of Bruce Wells’s Pinocchio, and she originated leading roles in Abby Jayne DeAngelo’s Home Someday, Amanda Morgan’s The Argument, Margaret Mullin’s Saccade, and Sarah Pasch’s How Does That Grab You?
Ms. Ani is a Youth America Grand Prix and California Dance Classics award winner.
