Malena Ani is from Los Angeles California. She studied with Olga Tozyiakova, Natalia Sinitsyna, and Zippora Karz, and at Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She attended summer courses at the Chautauqua Institution, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Malena joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2020.

Malena has performed leading and featured roles in George Balanchine’s George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker (Dewdrop, Lead Marzipan, Lead Spanish, Columbine); Vincent Michael Lopez’s Op. 21*; Dwight Rhoden’s Catching Feelings; and Kent Stowell’s Carmina Burana (Fortuna) and Swan Lake (Neapolitan, Pas de Trois, Pas de Quatre). She’s performed ensemble roles in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Diamonds, and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Peter Boal’s Giselle, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Romeo ét Juliette, Justin Peck’s The Times Are Racing, Crystal Pite’s The Seasons’ Canon, Kent Stowell’s Carmina Burana and Swan Lake, and Twyla Tharp’s Waiting at the Station.
