A loving spirit returns to console wounded hearts and confront conceit in Cendrillon, a Cinderella love story from the creators of Roméo et Juliette. Find out more about this PNB premiere and get tickets now! Cendrillon is on stage at McCaw Hall February 3 through 12.

Pacific Northwest Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform Cendrillon. The ballet, first danced by Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, is also brand new to Seattle!

The creative team behind Cendrillon also brought Roméo et Juliette to PNB. That includes choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot, stager Bernice Coppietiers, scenic designer Ernest Pignon-Ernest, costume designer Jerome Kaplan and lighting designer Dominique Drillot (not to mention composer Sergei Prokofiev!).

It’s not your average Cinderella story. “There is a hard edge…a dystopian style,” writes the LA Times. This story focuses on The Fairy, who is also an incarnation of Cinderella’s late mother.

It’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. “Maillot has a gift for taking the familiar and the expected and creating something unexpected,” says PNB Artistic Director Peter Boal.

You can join a Cendrillon rehearsal on January 27 via live stream! Step inside our studios for a rare glimpse at our artists in their element.

Former PNB Principal dancer Lucien Postlewaite makes a guest appearance on February 4. You might remember him from Maillot’s Roméo et Juliette. Postlewaite now performs with Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.

Postlewaite will also join PNB Artistic Director Peter Boal before the February 2 dress rehearsal for an in-depth discussion on the creative process behind Cendrillon. Learn more!

The Prince in Maillot’s version of Cinderella has a keen interest in the title character’s…feet.

Despite Maillot’s typically high-strong choreography, Cendrillon has a softer side. “There are moments in the couple’s sweeping pas de deux that depart from Mr. Maillot’s usual emphasis on jagged, contained movement,” writes The New York Times.

It’s an enchanting love story and the perfect curtain-raiser for Valentine’s Day. Cendrillon runs from February 3 through February 12.
