2025 Summer Course By the Numbers

PNB School’s 2025 Summer Course ended last week, and we are so impressed with our students! During this five-week intensive, they learned new movement styles, made friends, and elevated their ballet training to new heights. Today, we’re breaking it all down with some fun numbers…

In January and February of 2025, PNB School faculty visited in 25 cities around the US during the annual PNB Summer Course Audition Tour. 1,125 students between the ages of 12 and 19 auditioned for Summer Course this year; 262 students attended.

PNB School offered over 228 classes per week, including ballet technique, pointe, and variations, as well as modern, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, character, composition, strength training, Pilates mat class, and yoga. Students also attended seminars on several dance-related topics like injury prevention and nutrition.

The Summer Course students learned 21 variations and PNB repertory works, and 14 of those were choreographed by George Balanchine!

Sagittarius was the most common Zodiac sign at this year’s Summer Course, with 29 students. Sagittarius’s are often independent, compassionate, honest, open-minded, humorous, optimistic, and wise.

205 students roomed at the PNB Summer Residence, where they participated in fun activities like the Annual PNB Dorm Dance, attending a Seattle Mariners game, and touring the Puget Sound and Lake Union via boat!

PNB School was busy in Bellevue, too! At the Francia Russell Center Summer Course, 105 PNB School students danced three to six days a week. Classes included ballet technique, pre-pointe, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop, character, yoga, mat class, and musical theater.
