Tuition & Scholarships

Tuition

All students who enroll for Pre-Ballet, Level I-Level VIII, and Professional Division classes are enrolling for the entire school year (September 7, 2023-June 15, 2024), and are obligated to pay the full year’s tuition fees, regardless of payment option (year in full, biannual, or monthly installments.)

2023-24 tuition is non-refundable once classes begin. Refunds will not be given for any reason. This includes classes that are cancelled for any reason or mandatory closures due to state and/or local mandates.

The school year begins on September 7th and ends on June 15th. Holiday closures including winter and spring break dates are listed in the School Calendar and will be sent to families separately.

Tots, Creative Movement, and Children’s Division Boys students enroll for 9-week Quarters with full-year, semester, or quarter tuition payments. All payments will be automatically charged. Students must withdraw from the school one week prior to the start of the new quarter to be removed from autopay.

A $50 fee will be charged to active accounts more than 30 days past due.

Monthly installment payments will be automatically charged on the first day of each month.
Students are required to attend all scheduled classes for the Level in which they are registered. Partial attendance is not allowed.

Students may be eligible for pro-rated tuition if they must withdraw from classes due to prolonged illness or severe injury (verified by physician’s written orders). No full refunds will be given for an injury.

Students who receive a registration email for the 2023-24 school year in Level III and above who do not enroll for the 2023-24 school year by November 1, 2023 or withdraw from the School for any reason after classes have begun and wish to re-enroll at a later date must audition for re-admission to the School. Re-admission is not guaranteed for any returning student.

The mandatory accident insurance fee is included in the tuition payment. Please note that PNBS’ insurance is a secondary policy.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available and are awarded on the basis of financial need, class performance and potential for a professional career. Scholarships are granted for no longer than one academic year. Financial assistance is primarily awarded to Student Division and Professional Division applicants. Students enrolled in the Children’s Division may apply for financial aid, although assistance is limited at this level.

Pacific Northwest Ballet School has a limited amount of stipend assistance funds available for Professional Division students to provide supplemental income for living expenses. A separate Stipend Application must be submitted to be considered for stipend assistance.

Determination of Scholarship and Stipend assistance is considered separately by the Financial Aid Committee.

Financial Aid forms are available from the School and must be completed and returned by the posted deadline for consideration by the Financial Aid Committee.

2023/24 School Year Application Deadline: July 1, 2023

Students must submit a separate application for Summer Course. Summer Financial Aid applications are available in January, and are due later in the spring (dates TBD).

Our financial assistance application process utilizes the services of School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS).  SSS does a comprehensive, standardized analysis of the information received and, upon completion, submits a report to PNB, which provides an estimated amount that your family can contribute toward educational expenses.

  • The application form for SSS is called the Parent Financial Statement (PFS). The PFS form can be completed online at https://www.solutionsbysss.com/parents/ for a $60 non-refundable processing fee. Please apply no later than July 1, 2023 to allow sufficient processing time.
  • PNB School’s code number is 5630.
  • Questions regarding the PFS may be directly answered by SSS representatives by calling the Helpline at 800.344.8328.
  • For families with more than one student at PNB, only one PFS form is necessary.
  • For families whose parents are separated or divorced a separate PFS form must be completed by the non-custodial parent and mailed as directed above.
  • All supporting tax documentation must be submitted directly to SSS after completing the PFS

Pacific Northwest Ballet will not accept any applications past the stated deadline.  Applications that are incomplete or do not include all of the required paperwork will be automatically declined.

All applications and financial information are kept confidential. PNB does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, sex, or ethnic origin.

Please contact the School office if you have further questions regarding our financial assistance program.
