Dani Rowe, born in Shepparton, Australia, was a Principal Dancer with the Australian Ballet, Houston Ballet, and danced with Nederlands Dans Theater. As a dancer she has worked with choreographers including Christopher Wheeldon, Alexander Ekman, Crystal Pite, Jiri Kylian, and Alexei Ratmansky. After retiring as a dancer in 2015, Rowe turned to choreography. She has created works for San Francisco Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater’s SWITCH program, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Berkeley Ballet Theater among others. She has been dubbed a “choreographic storyteller” (Toba Singer, Culture Vulture). Rowe was appointed Artistic Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre in February of 2023.
