Celebrate PNB’s Resident Choreographer Jessica Lang with some of her most beloved works. Inspired by legendary American painter Georgia O’Keeffe’s Patio Door series, Her Door to the Sky is one of Lang’s most radiant pieces. In stark contrast, Ghost Variations explores Robert Schumann’s final compositions before he was confined to an asylum. ZigZag, Lang’s delightful tribute to the legendary career of Tony Bennet, rounds out this trio that highlights her versatility, virtuosity, and varied choreographic inspiration.
It’s a work that creates a sort of celestial mood, like it’s floating on a cloud; sending the audience home quietly.
Enjoy an in-depth discussion between PNB artists, from choreographers to costume designers, before attending a dress rehearsal performance with PNB Company dancers and the PNB Orchestra. You’ll get behind-the-scenes perspectives and a sneak peek at the show.
Perfect for folks wanting to learn more about ballet and its history, “Ballet Talks” are entertaining half–hour lectures about PNB’s current show given by dance experts. Join us an hour before your performance downstairs in the Nesholm Family Lecture Hall!
Connect with PNB Company artists in these inspiring Q&A sessions directly following your performance. “Meet the Artist” is an opportunity to discuss how the ballet you just watched impacted you and to learn the performers’ unique insights.
