Each year, students from around the country (and globe) come to Pacific Northwest Ballet to experience the highest caliber of intensive classical ballet training. Keep scrolling to learn little bit more about Summer Course 2026!
241 students attend 18-23 classes per week (and we offer 231 classes per week!).
1,530 students auditioned to be part of this elite group! Auditions took place around the country in January 2026 during PNB School’s annual Summer Course Audition tour around the US in 29 cities.
These students represent 35 U.S. States and 6 countries. States with the most students represented: California (50), Washington (28), New York (24), and Texas (21). Other Countries Represented: Canada (5), Italy (1), Japan (1), Mexico (1), United Kingdom (1).
Ages of these students range from 12 – 20 years old. (Nearly 40% of 2026 Summer Course students are between the ages of 16 and 17.) And the most common Zodiac sign this year was Taurus (29 students).
203 of our summer course students are staying in our dormitory-style housing. It is Summer Residence Director’s David Jensen 32nd summer course!
Additional activities and excursions in and around Seattle include: a Residence Talent Show, a Puget Sound and Lake Union Tour, Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, late-night runs to Dick’s Drive-In (every Friday night), a Seattle Mariners game, a Seattle Storm Game, Wild Waves Theme and Water Park, and much more!
Our Summer Day Program at the Francia Russell Center welcomed 134 additional students, and our Eastside Summer Dance Workshops introduced 146 more to the wonderful world of dance. That’s 521 students total across all our summer offerings!
