REACH Student Dance Group

In the Fall 2026 session, participants will collaborate with professional choreographer Devin Oshiro and Whim W’Him company dancer Ashley Rivette to create a new piece of choreography they will perform onstage at McCaw Hall. Students will explore contemporary dance through creative prompts and collaborative tasks that encourage them to experiment, connect, and discover new ways of moving. 

Devin Oshiro is a dance artist whose practice spans performance, choreography, teaching, and community engagement. She performed extensively in New York City, choreographed nationally and internationally, and served as Gibney’s Deputy Artistic Director of Community Action, where she led workshops promoting wellness and healthy relationships with young people and survivors of gender-based violence. Most recently, she premiered a new work in collaboration with The Wooden Floor in Santa Ana, CA. She currently teaches with Path with Art and serves as Studio Manager at Whim W’Him. 

Ashley Rivette is originally from the DC, Maryland, Virginia area but began her dance training in Stuttgart, Germany. She has a BFA in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory and has had the pleasure to dance with Christopher K. Morgan & Artists, DanceWorks Chicago, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Boykin Dance Project. Currently, she is a dancer and teacher with Whim W’Him Seattle Contemporary Dance.
