Pre-Ballet students are introduced to ballet steps and terminology and the basics of dance. Posture and correct body alignment is emphasized as students begin to build a solid foundation for classical ballet training. Pre-Ballet students participate in PNB School’s culminating Petite Finale performances each spring. Students enrolled in Pre-Ballet are evaluated in the spring by PNBS faculty, in consultation with the School Principals, for suitability to the demands of Level I in the Student Division. Promotion to Level I in the PNBS Student Division is by invitation only.
Classes meet once a week. Pre-Ballet registration and commitment is for the full PNBS school year (September-June). Students must turn 7 by August 31 of the current school year to enroll in Pre-Ballet.
Note: After the first six weeks of the School year, enrollment in Pre-Ballet classes is open only to students with previous training and authorization from the Children’s Division Coordinator.
