Ages 2 – 3
Toddlers ages 2 to 3 and parent or caretaker dance together while focusing on rhythm, movement, music and fun! Learn dance moves for home while developing healthy toddler bodies and coordination. Classes meet once a week, and children must be 2 years old at the time of registration. No audition required.
Duet Class Guidelines
Each registered Duet student must have an adult partner. Only 1 student per adult partner.
Only registered Duet students with their adult partner are permitted in the studio during classes.
Designated Watch Days are for observation only.
Children age 4 will dance and move in a stimulating environment focused on creativity, group interaction and the joy of self-expression. Classes meet once a week for a 9-week quarter, and children must be 4 years old by December 31 of the same year of registration. Students must be ready to participate in class without parental supervision, as class observation is limited to designated watch days. No audition required.
Ages 5 – 6
Creative Movement classes encourage imagination, self-expression and group interaction while introducing basic ballet movement and music concepts. Students participate in PNB School’s culminating Petite Finale performances each spring Students must turn 5 by December 31st of the current school year.
Classes meet once a week for a 9-week quarter during the 2018-19 School Year (and 5-weeks in the summer).
Ages 5 – 7
Pacific Northwest Ballet School offers a fun and energetic class that introduces music and movement to boys ages 5–7 (CD Boys for ages 5-6 and Pre-Ballet for age 7). Children’s Division Boys Classes incorporate creative dance concepts with an emphasis on proper alignment, coordination and athleticism. Students in Children’s Division Boys Classes have the opportunity to showcase their skills in PNB School’s culminating Petite Finale performances each spring. Students must turn 5 by December 31st of the current school year.
Classes meet once a week for a 9-week quarter.
At the end of Pre-Ballet the children will have been introduced to ballet steps and terminology and the basics of dance. Students enrolled in Pre-Ballet are evaluated in the spring by PNBS faculty, in consultation with the School Principals, for suitability to the demands of Level I in the Student Division. Classes meet once a week for a 19-week semester. Students must turn 7 by December 31 of the current school year to enroll in Pre-Ballet.
Note: After the first six weeks of the School year, enrollment in Pre-Ballet classes is open only to students with previous training and authorization from the Children’s Division Coordinator.
