Abby Jayne DeAngelo is from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She studied at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and she attended summer courses at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Ballet Academy East, the School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, the School of Ballet Chicago, and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Ms. DeAngelo joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2019.
While a student, Ms. DeAngelo performed corps de ballet roles with Pacific Northwest Ballet in George Balanchine’s George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® and Symphony in C and Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake. She performed roles in Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Jerome Robbins’ Fanfare and originated roles in new works by Miles Pertl and Ezra Thomson for Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s annual School Performance, originated roles in new works by Nancy Casciano, Christopher D’Ariano, Margaret Mullin, and Sarah Pasch for PNB’s NEXT STEP program, and performed roles in Bruce Wells’ Hansel & Gretel and Snow White. She also performed leading roles at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Emeralds, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Raymonda Variations, and Serenade, and roles in Alan Hineline’s Cinderella and Paul Taylor’s Company B, as well as a leading role in Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco at the School of Ballet Chicago. In 2016, she choreographed Iuso la kuvina for Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s First Steps Program.
Ms. DeAngelo was a 2015 recipient of the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, recognized by Congressman Lou Barletta for “outstanding and invaluable service to the community.”
